Stabbur

A stabbur is a Norwegian out building that was used for many purposes on farms in Norway. Stabburs were made of wood and mostly used to store meats and other edibles that could freeze during the winter. These buildings often have grass roofs and are raised up off the ground on rocks or logs. They often look to have a much larger upper room than the lower chamber where you enter. Most of the Stabburs are found south of the polar circle, especially south of Trondheim.
